Boleyn ground many times. Been to plenty of away games too, on the inter city family rail card of course.

Unfortunately I haven’t been to the Olympic stadium yet. I did mention that in my post.

I’m what you might call an Armchair fan these days.

Ham,

Are you saying we are not entitled to have an opinion?

Re: Our owners
The worst ones who have an opinion on going to West Ham are those that are thousands of miles away.....how can you judge what reasons it's been fucked up as an experience from there? Plus you've probably been away so long you've got nothing to compare it to if indeed you've ever been.

They need to wind it in, wouldn't you say?

I vowed I wasn’t going again while Brown was strangling the club financially and appointing divs like Roeder, so I can sympathise

Remember Brown deferring half a million ‘salary’ — piss taking cunt

''Moaning miserable Mike 3.46...is it your intention to actually go to a game this season?''

I think that's a fair point. The moaners that don't go to games are the worst type, it's all a bit fucking galling to be honest. If I were in the UK I would 100% be going to games, away games too. Some cunts need to wind it in a bit from the comfort of their sofa.

Re: Our owners
I am also an overseas fan and sit with a huge respect towards the WHU community and fanbase's history and affection of Upton Park.
The OP have some good and valid points, and the board should have credit for really spending money on new players.

But is it enough to make the good owners? Well, not in my eyes. I'm afraid they always will be the spunk brothers that sold our heritage and gave the fanbase misery in their hunt for cash.

I'm happy for the new players, but then I would expect any owner of such a big club as West Ham to deliver in that department.
So it's still #GSBOUT from here.

Willwall was bragging on here how he played football on Saturdays and managed after he retired from playing for decades.....this was why he supposedly didn't know who John Lyall was and had Harry Redknapp as his favourite manager.........now apparently he went home and away for decades.

What lying cunt he is............eitherway......

Re: Our owners
Personally I see nothing wrong with anyone, Including our owners cashing in on their business, it’s what helps bring success.

To say they haven’t helped the club is bollox, we had a ton of debt and we’re in trouble when they came in, things are a bit different now and in different I mean better.

The biggie is the move from The Boleyn Ground. I get the attachment mainly because the memories, the atmosphere and it was a huge part of the clubs identity. A lot of businesses were put out of biz when we moved too besides the stands were much closer to the pitch. So I understand why a lot of people feel the way they do.

However the opportunity to move into a brand new stadium with a much larger capacity at Stratford had its benefits too. Can only imagine how many people would be moaning if we hadn’t moved and remained in mediocrity while Spurs moved in and took advantage of the situation.

Now I will concede I have not been to the stadium as I live abroad and have no first hand knowledge of the game day experience however I do know a few who go and who have said it’s not as bad as advertised.

So for me I base my opinion on how we play and results. Both of which I like at the moment.
One of the worst periods of being a West Ham fan was when we had Allardyce in charge, we were tough to watch, over the moon when he left.
So for an arm chair fan I quite like where we are and where we seem to be heading and can appreciate having owners that value making money, after all it’s hard to buy quality players and field a good side when you are broke. Like any good CEO you don’t want to leave any money on the table, you want it all for everyone’s sake.

Yeh you deffo cannot use a phone at the LS.

How can a west ham 'fan' have no affection for Upton Park?

I’ve never hidden that fact because I live abroad but I don’t pretend to be an uncompromising ultra fan.... that’s a huge difference.

I guess it’s also why I won’t support HU because I had no affection for UP when I spent decades getting there from Kent when I did home and away.

I’m not sure what good and proper business entity is going to buy West Ham for £700 million. All I know is if they care about the future if the club they would do their best to find the best purchaser.

We will see.

So Takahashi Miike doesn't go to games! Well I never and Snide of Ham doesn't either. Plus goose posted on here during last weekends game so he almost certainly wasn't at LS either....

Funny that!

Re: Our owners
Ha ha ha! Good point IOC...

Thing is as a former MD I have no problem describing them as incompetent. They are also incredibly shrewd, calculating and egotistical.

But I do still believe they are trying to do the right things for WHU while making millions for themselves. But how many clubs are run purely for altruistic reasons? Not many I'll wager.

Re: Our owners
Like all things in life, things don't have to be binary.

They can be both incompetent and calculating. At different moments and even at the same time.
